Muai Thai

Muai Thai, translated into English as Thai Boxing, is the national sport of Thailand and is a martial art with origins in the ancient battlefield tactics of the Siamese (or Thai) army. Muai Thai is unique in having a splendid opening ritual, known as Wai Khru, a ceremony paying homage to the fighters teacher and guardian spirits before fighting. This shows gratitude for knowledge imparted and asks for victory in the fight ahead. Boxing venues are available on Thepprasit Road.
