Yasothon

One of I-san’s newest and smallest provinces, with an area of 4,161 sq. km., Yasothon is a little off the beaten track. It is famous, however, for growing high-quality jasmine rice and for its annual Rocket Festival, the largest event of its kind in the region. The provincial capital is 530 km. from Bangkok, though access is easy from Ubon Ratchathani, some 100 km. to the southeast.
